German band Lords of Salem have been around since 2015 or thereabouts from what I can see, and released an initial EP back in 2018. The band have released a small handful of single releases since then, and then signed with German label Echozone for the release of the album "Supersonic Vampire Pussy", which was issued in the spring of 2026.
It is the industrial corner of the metal universe that is the chosen habitat of this foursome. The guitar riffs are hard and repetitive, the vocals alternate between being more rough and aggressive and more melodic and controlled, and a wide array of synthesizer sounds and electronic sounds flavor the landscapes explored throughout. More often than not with a cinematic or atmospheric laden opening part to the songs. And judging by the song titles this is a band that knows their way around horror movies too.
The music itself comes with a few different flavors within the industrial feel. In some cases with a style and execution that reminds me just a little bit of fellow German giants Rammstein, but also with parts and passages that makes me think of the "Psalm 69" era of Ministry just a little bit. The similarities aren't all that striking though, and exist more on a level a bit more subtle rather than overt, and those more familiar with the industrial metal tradition than what I am will probably be able to point to associations in other directions. Besides the hard, pounding or intense guitar and rhythm driven interfaces we also get recurring gentler interludes in the songs, and some instances where a more whimsical electronic motif are added to the landscapes but also with more majestic backdrops that to my ears sounds like they might have been inspired by the symphonic metal tradition. Some subtle EBM tendencies do appear on an occasion or two as well, and the concluding song 'Carnivore' comes with a more chaotic structure and development than what I tend to experience in the industrial metal field. And then in a different and more aggressive manner than similar tendencies from the aforementioned Ministry.
If you enjoy an industrial metal band that strikes out in a few different directions from a core industrial metal expression sounds like your type of music, and a little bit of EBM tendencies and frequent horror movie references sounds like the perfect flavoring and seasoning for this style of music to your mind, then this album by Lords of Salem may be one that will be of interest to you.
